The Great Scenario: Coffee or Tea?

By Larry Billinger

Think about this scenario for a bit. Can you imagine being the one person chosen to decide what the world would drink: coffee or tea? All other alternatives would be outlawed. If I, or anyone for that matter, had to make this world-changing decision, it would be a wild ride! And guess what? We got some funny and insightful thoughts from our pals over at Reddit to help us weigh the pros and cons.

Why some Reddit users say: “Team Tea!”

  1. Good for Health! – Several users mentioned the health benefits of tea. From green tea’s antioxidants to chamomile’s calming effects, there’s a tea for every health need. It’s like having a mini-doctor in your cup!
  2. So Many Flavors! – From chamomile to green tea and Earl Grey, there’s a flavor for every mood and time of day.
  3. Calm & Cozy – Many users said that tea has a calming effect. It’s like a warm hug in a cup!
  4. Gross!!! – Coffee is just disgusting. Period.

And here’s why some are shouting: “Coffee Forever!”

  1. Energy Boost! – For many, coffee is like a morning superhero, swooping in to save the day (or at least the morning!).
  2. The Aroma! – Some users rave about the irresistible smell of freshly brewed coffee. It’s like a wake-up call for your senses even before you take the first sip! (I personally think it has a tenge of cigarette smoke smell to it.)
  3. Rich Taste – Some folks just love that strong, bold coffee taste. It’s a flavor punch to the face (in a good way). (YUK!!!)

But now, let’s talk about the ultimate decision. Drumroll, please…

The choice: Iced Tea, without caffeine!

Wait, what? Yep! Instead of the expected hot coffee or tea, the answer is a chilled, caffeine-free iced tea. It’s a twist nobody saw coming. Well, if you know me at all, this will totally make sense.

Here’s why:

  • Refreshing – Iced tea gives that refreshing feel, especially on a hot day.
  • Gross – Hot drinks are just gross, and coffee hot or cold is barf! Nasty!

What about you? If posed this question how would you answer?
