Ever heard stories of an event so magical and fun that you wished you were there? I’ve heard about Lindsborg’s Svensk Hyllningsfest for as long as I can remember but never made the trip. This year, I’m thinking of immersing myself in this cultural wonder. If you live close by, like in Salina, join me! Just a 15-minute drive, and you’re transported into a Swedish wonderland right in the heart of Kansas.

Why Celebrate in Lindsborg?

Way back in the late 1860s, brave Swedish pioneers made the Smoky Valley their home. They built a community that cherished culture, music, art, and freedom. Today, Lindsborg pays tribute to those pioneers with a festival that’s alive with color and tradition.

What’s All the Excitement About? From colorful parades to lively dances and mouth-watering foods, there’s something for everyone.

Quick Look: Festival Highlights

  • Saturday, 10 am: Grand Parade! See school bands in Swedish costumes, vibrant floats, and much more.
  • All Day: Dance & Music everywhere! Traditional outfits, folk tunes, and dances that’ll make you want to join in.
  • Meal Times: Swedish Feast – The Smörgåsbord. A grand feast of delicious Swedish dishes. Remember to get your tickets early!

Why Should You Go?

If you love adventure, learning about cultures, or just enjoying good food and music, this is the place to be. Being part of a tradition that’s been celebrated for over 75 years? That’s a cherry on top!

So, pack your spirit of adventure (and maybe dancing shoes), and let’s dive into the Swedish heart of Kansas!
